Abused Women’s Aid Fund provides financial support to women in the Bergen area exposed to violence and abuse with the aim to make life a bit easier during a difficult time easier.

ABOUT ABUSED WOMEN’S AID FUND

Abused Women’s Aid Fund was established in the autumn of 2022 in Bergen, Norway.

Our purposeis to provide financial support to women in the Bergen area who have been exposed to sexual abuse, physical violence, psychological violence, partner abuse, human trafficking, forced marriage, stalking and/or harassment in order to make their life easier during a difficult time.

Our philosophy is based on the concept of “self-help” with the aim to improve the life situation of women exposed to violence.

Examples of what you can apply financial support for are expenses relating to psychological treatment or other health care services, relief measures, legal assistance, training courses, application fees to UDI, contribution to rent deposit, etc.

Representation

If you apply for funds on behalf of another person please attach a written power of attorney signed by the applicant.

Financial support

Financial support can only be applied for where other public support schemes are not sufficient. Fund payouts may vary between NOK 1,000 and NOK 50,000.

Description

In the application, a description of what the funds is to be used for is requested and any relevant documentation must be attached.

Applications are to be submitted in writing by using the application form below, by e-mail, by WhatsApp/SMS or by post to RettAdvokat ANS, Vågsallmenningen 10, 5014 BERGEN (marked with «Application – aid fund»)

All applications will be treated confidentially and assessed by the Board of the Abused Women’s Aid Fund within two weeks.
